THE DOMAIN NAME SYSTEM (DNS)
Domain Name System is the distributed Internet directory service.. If DNS fails or it is too slow,then the websites cannot be easily located and also email delivery stalls.
The URL specifies to the address of all the web pages displayed in the window browser. Each of theweb page on the net is associated with unique URL which will begins with http:// and then by www, the host name and after the domain name. The host name is the name of the company or organization.
The domain could refers to as common name for a computer or the groups on the net. It is very unique and could be purchased from the organization called Internet Network Information Center. The domain name(DS) is the last in the url or can sy on web site address. The DNS is used to translate the domain names into IP addresses .
The following are the common domain names:
On internet, some of these strings are fully managed by the Domain Name System (DNS). The domain name server( DNS) use a system of multi-level strings which are separated by dot (‘.’) to organize the domain names.
For example, A website use the three levels of naming. The levels are listed in order from lowest to the highest when reading from left to right. We have something like (‘www’) that represent to the first sub string or sub domain. while the second sub-string can be (‘www.newsup4u.com’) i.e. an organizational domain that points to a web site or also contains other sub-website and sub-domains. Finally, the sub-string represents (‘.com’,".net"etc) which areb top level domains (TLD) that encompass a numerous organizations worldwide, e.g. www.newsup4u.com.
